A Team Effort
Home arrow pointing right About Us arrow pointing right A Team Effort
Any company and its products are only as good as the people who help create them. As a new company, developing unique products, American Cast Iron has relied on its team of artists, suppliers, educators, and mentors. Each of these key associates has earned our thanks and deserves recognition for their great work.

CREATIVE

Evins Design
Evins Design, an award-winning studio, offers full-service design including print, web, packaging, branding, and exhibition work. The company takes pride in solving clients' communication needs by listening, obsessing over details, implementing a shared vision, and meeting deadlines. Evins Design works with a variety of client companies, as well as creative and cultural institutions.

Julia Evins created and coordinated all of the graphic design work on the crates, the crate sleeves, and the boxes. We think that Julia has created the sexiest packaging that has ever held a cast-iron anything.

Fast Break Sports
“Sports are a way of life,” say the folks at Fast Break, specializing in team sales, uniforms, and embroidery. Open since 1989, the company stocks a variety of field hockey and lacrosse equipment, T-shirts, shorts, and sweats, which can be embroidered with your team logo.

Fast Break really started our product production process with its exacting creation of template cloth eights modeled from Cal’s jersey. The enthusiasm and encouragement from Nancy Gross and Bob Pfadenhauer for all of our ventures throughout the years are unparalleled.

Getty Images
From contemporary creative imagery to news, sports, entertainment, and archival imagery, Getty Images creates and distributes the world's best and broadest imagery collections. Each month gettyimages.com serves an average of 4 million unique users and 175 million page views.

Mary Malmberg, of Getty’s Chicago office, was instrumental in guiding us through the myriad details of meeting our licensing obligations and locating the great photography for our packaging.

Mt. Vernon Media

Offering design and development services tailored to each client’s specifications, designed to ensure that the appropriate technology is leveraged for optimum results. Mt. Vernon Media creates dynamic and effective design, based on market effectiveness and user-friendly design standards. T.J. Moyer led the development of American Cast Iron's website.

Michael Swaby-Rowe

Michael created the product photographs that appear on all of our packaging. He is dependable, reliable, and capable both as a photographer and our friend.

Regina Lansinger Photography
Regina counts striking product photography among her other specialties, portraits and events. Her keen eye and technical experience shows in our website photography.

MANUFACTURING

Cumberland Foundry
For more than 50 years, Cumberland Foundry has provided customers with high-quality castings, exemplary service, and competitive pricing. Cumberland continues that tradition with state-of-the art equipment and advanced technology to ensure that customers get the quality iron castings needed on time. Cumberland produces superior gray and ductile irons castings up to 1,000 pounds using green sand molding. It maintains a complete pattern shop for wood and metal patterns and offers chemical and physical analysis and heat treating when requested.

We want to acknowledge second-generation foundryman Al Lucchetti, who oversaw the casting of our IronEights™. Al and his company lived up to our challenge and delivered a great product.

Custom Printing & Finishing
A long-time, reliable friend of our company, Fred Neagul, owner of Custom Printing & Finishing, was responsible for printing the special synthetic paper, Yupo, that wraps our products. The paper is printed with Cal Ripken, Jr.’s signature in silver.

John Wright Company

A manufacturing and distribution company nestled in the heartland of Pennsylvania, the John Wright Company is a fourth-generation, family-run business. A limited number of products are still made in the foundry, while the majority of its products are sourced abroad. John Wright is proud of its collection of decorative and functional products for the home.

Paul Holt, president of the company and a dedicated baseball fan who treasures his Cal Ripken, Jr. autographed bat, stepped in at a crucial moment and guided us and offered advice that kept the project viable.

M-Deco/TPA
Billing itself as a one-stop shop for all packaging needs, the company manufactures a full line of TPA-brand “automatic” packaging equipment, as well as provides contract packaging, fulfillment, and co-packaging services.

M-Deco’s Jay and Virginia Gibson provide flexible packaging and fulfillment solutions that meet our needs and exceed our expectations.

Maine Cedar Hot Tubs

The company specializes in handcrafted wooden cedar hot tubs of exceptional quality, utilizing the highest grade materials and components. It offers tubs in both traditional natural and "cold-moulded" (wood and epoxy composite) versions. All of Maine Cedar's products feature precision joinery and polished stainless steel hardware.

Although tubs weren’t part of our plans, the great-looking display stands are largely the result of Steve Meisner’s advice, expertise, and manufacturing.

Napa Wooden Box Company
Manufacturing wooden products under the guides of quality, service, and dependability, Napa Wooden Box Company works with many of the most prestigious wineries, gourmet product suppliers, and merchandisers in business. Its production facility is set up to produce in volume with accuracy and efficiency. The hot-branding and silk-screening methods it has implemented provide the clarity and style that complement and enhance product presentation. A commitment to quality, service, and reliability is evident in all aspects of its operation.

Napa Wooden Box Company produced all of our great-looking custom-branded crates for the limited-edition products. We want to thank Wally Lane and his staff for their reliable work and calm patience throughout our project.

Schmitz Press
Founded in 1937 and continuously owned and operated by the Schmitz family, Schmitz Press has won more awards for print quality from the Printing Industries of Maryland than any other member company. On the national and international level, Schmitz has been especially recognized for its annual report printing. In 2002, Schmitz Press was chosen by the printing trade organization Sappi as a North American Printer of the Year Gold Award winner, one of only six companies in North America to be so honored.

It's certainly one of the best printing companies around, and we were glad to have Charlie McAree and Joan Schmacher oversee the printing of the crate sleeves.

Teknicote
One of the oldest and largest contract powder-coating operations in the United States, Teknicote offers the widest range of high-quality powder-coating services available anywhere.

Teknicote is responsible for the beautiful coating and final product finishing. It did a superb job and deserves a lot of the credit for bringing our products to the final degree of polish that makes them so special. Steve Dolan, Rene Chew, and Diana Forget are a pleasure to work with.

York Container
A full-service supplier, York’s broad capabilities enables it to manage any company's packaging requirements, evaluate a company's product line, develop new shipping systems, offer creative graphic designs, provide structural solutions, meet storage requirements, handle fulfillment, even offer an on-site packaging audit at no charge.

York is responsible for producing the eye-catching boxes that hold our open-edition products. Thanks to Rich Santel and Judy Bruce.
